We prepped the soil by ripping all the roots, concrete and boulders from 100 years of old walnut orchards and use. We then scraped the field with a state of the art machine that graded and sloped the field for proper drainage.Â

The final prep work was laying a grid for the planting of each Olive Tree. A special GPS guided tractor layed out a grid a spaced each tree and each tree was planted at the intersections of the grid. Very trick!
We then installed a pump and drip irrigation system which drew water from sloughs connected to the Delta.
